Remote support

Arranged appointments only

Get help from a Metits technician.

We connect to your computer with RustDesk, through Metits’ own private server. Follow these steps before your appointment. You stay in control and can end the session at any time.

Only connect when Metits has arranged an appointment with you and you have given permission through the private link in your appointment email. We will never call out of the blue asking to connect, and we never ask for your account passwords.

  1. 01

    Download RustDesk

Get RustDesk only from its official sources:

    • Windows — from the official RustDesk release page, download the file ending x86_64.exe and open it.
    • Mac — from the same release page, download aarch64.dmg for Apple silicon (M1 or later) or x86_64.dmg for older Intel Macs. When RustDesk asks, allow Screen Recording and Accessibility in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
    • Linux — the .deb, .rpm or .AppImage file for your system from the release page.
    • iPhone or iPad — RustDesk on the App Store. Android — the universal-signed.apk file from the release page.

Your technician may tell you which RustDesk version to use. More help: official RustDesk client guide.

  2. 02

    Connect RustDesk to Metits’ server

Open RustDesk. Select the menu (⋮) next to Your ID, choose Network and unlock the settings (your computer may ask for permission). Enter exactly:

    ID Server
    relay.metits.com
    Relay Server
    leave blank
    API Server
    leave blank
    Key
    TwjTtCN5D+ymIoWiUhqC4v6OjLIIr5jnczSpTovtX8s=

Then select Apply. Your appointment email shows the same details, so you can check them against each other.

  3. 03

    At your appointment

Stay at your computer. Read the ID shown at the top left of RustDesk to your technician by phone. When the connection request appears, check it is the technician named in your appointment before you accept.

If they ask for the one-time password shown under your ID, read it to them by phone during the appointment only. Never type it into a website, email or chat. It changes after each session.

  4. 04

    Ending the session

You can stop at any time: close the RustDesk connection window, select disconnect in the bar RustDesk shows during the session, or quit RustDesk. To withdraw permission for the appointment as well, use the private link in your appointment email.
